Umbrella Strollers

Umbrella strollers are the most lightweight and compact strollers available to parents. This type of stroller is referred to as an umbrella stroller because it features spring into action opening and folding and curved handles that are similar to umbrella handles.

The simple, lightweight design of umbrella strollers makes them easier to navigate around obstacles and through tight spaces than larger full-featured strollers. When folded, an umbrella stroller can be stored in a vehicle trunk without taking up a great deal of space.

With a basic design and few convenience features, umbrella strollers are the most affordable stroller type on the market.

While umbrella strollers are the least expensive stroller type, they tend to be less stable and less durable than full-featured strollers are. Additionally, umbrella strollers do not recline; therefore, newborns and infants up to 3 months of age who are unable to support their heads should not ride in umbrella strollers.
