Strollers for Triplets

A triple stroller can make it a little easier to travel with all three kids in tow whether they are triplets or just very close in age. Triple strollers are available in lightweight, standard and jogging stroller styles. Since they are designed to hold three children, most triple strollers have a maximum weight capacity of 150 pounds. Consider the overall weight of the stroller because when three babies are in the stroller it will become heavier so it is best to try to choose a model that is fairly lightweight.

Triple strollers are available in side-by-side and front to back (tandem) models. Since they are wider than 30”, side-by-side triple strollers will not fit through doorways or tight aisles in stores. Side-by-side umbrella strollers are typically the easiest models to fold and store. Tandem triple strollers will be able to fit through doorways; however, the increased height and length can pose navigation and maneuvering challenges.

Due to their extra width, triple jogging strollers have a 4-wheel design rather than a 3-wheel design. This helps to ensure that the stroller’s stability is increased.

When choosing a stroller to use with infant triples, it is important to choose a model with individually reclining seats so that one child can nap fully reclined even if the others are wide-awake and sitting upright. Models with removable infant carriers can make traveling with newborn triplets more convenient for parents.
